This sculptural seating piece blends art and functionality to create a true functional sculpture. Its form draws inspiration from the captivating drapery in Gian Lorenzo Bernini’s masterpieces, isolating small details of flowing fabric frozen in motion and scaling them up for human use. Flowing lines and undulating surfaces define the piece, with smooth, tactile contours designed to encourage touch, interaction, and play. Despite its considerable weight, it appears light and fluid, as though momentarily suspended in air.
The design offers multiple seating possibilities—from a relaxed chaise-like position to conversational group seating and an elevated perch overlooking the landscape. Contrasting textures define the piece: a smooth, inviting top surface over a richly textured underside. Designed to age naturally, its patina will evolve with use and exposure to the Swiss climate, recording the passage of time and the life it continues to host.
