This bespoke desk continues the Nodum series, exploring the dialogue between movement, material, and form. A flowing timber ribbon traces a dynamic path through three dimensions — an expression of flow, momentum, and orbital motion captured in solid wood. Large compound surfaces reveal the natural grain’s inherent patterns, while fluid curves emphasize rhythm and continuity. The ebonised finish unifies the form, lending depth and cohesion to its sculptural presence.
Developed in close collaboration with the client, the piece draws inspiration from the architectural language of Carlo Scarpa — where precise orthogonal elements juxtapose fluid, organic gestures. Vertical columns intersect with the desk’s curving form, creating a balance between structure and motion. The result is both functional and poetic: a piece that invites touch and use while celebrating craftsmanship, material honesty, and the timeless elegance of sculptural design.
